As part of the "Art in Le Village" initiative of increasing accessibility to art in the region, Groupe Renaissance Group Community Association Communautaire is pleased to present the works of Jessica Laflamme at its office at 155 Montreal Road in Cornwall's Le Village district. The office is open from 9am to 3pm Monday through Thursday. Six of Laflamme's pieces will be hanging in the front foyer area of Renaissance's office until mid-March.

Jessica Laflamme lives in Winchester, Ontario. She attends school at Maple Ridge Senior Public School and is in the Seventh Grade French Immersion Program. Jessica has been taking Art Lessons for the past 3 ½ years at Joan Hopkins Colour Wheel Studio in Chesterville. She began with oil paints, and has progressed to water colour and acrylic paints, and enjoys painting landscapes and scenery. Jessica knows that art will always be a part of her life, but she has not yet decided if she will make it a career or hobby.

About Art in Le Village
Perhaps better known for its efforts in revitalizing the Le Village area and its award-winning collaborative efforts with community partnerships, Groupe Renaissance Group is now addressing another component of its agenda of social and economic development. In 1998, the Delcan Report -based upon feedback from community consultations- identified the need and desire to improve community services and activities. "This is just the first step in addressing that need. Next there might be a street arts festival, theatre project... We're just starting," said Renaissance spokesperson G.H. Chuck Charlebois.
